Some dogs struggle deeply when left alone or apart from their guardian, whether they are puppies or adolescents still learning to feel safe, adult dogs experiencing separation-related behaviors within the syndrome, or elderly dogs experiencing changes in their wellbeing, comfort, and safety when left alone, Togetherness When Apart is a program designed to support dogs and their guardians through this complex challenge with compassion, clarity, and a whole-dog perspective grounded in the philosophy of the Ensō, Total Welfare, physical and emotional health, and the foundational feelings of safety and security that we all need.

You want to leave the house without dread, knowing your dog can acclimate, rest, cope, and remain emotionally steady. Most of all, you want a life that feels more peaceful for both of you, when separation elicits trust, confidence, and connection.
When Things Feel Like They Aren't Working
Separation-related behaviors are devestating and can make everyday life feel heavy. And it is a complicated condition. The barking, distress, destruction, pacing, or panic can be heartbreaking to witness, and the worry about your dog’s emotional and physical safety can feel constant. Over time, the stress can affect both you and your dog, making time apart feel harder than it should.

That’s where AmaZEN Canines’ support makes all the difference. Togetherness When Apart starts with a Total Welfare assessment, and then focuses on supporting safety and addressing physical health. We look at the whole dog including their physical health, emotional state, environment, behavior, and overall quality of life so we can create a balanced plan that supports calm, confidence, and real change over time. Guided by the Ensō, this work honors imperfection, progress, and the belief that your dog is not broken. Your dog needs understanding, support, and a path forward.
Initial Assessment

90-minute assessment Call (via Zoom)
Review of your dog’s history and training goals
Absence assessment
Overview of the training process and behavior change outlook
Resources & handouts
4-Week Intensive Program
$100 of your Initial Assessment fee will be credited should you decide a 4-week Intensive Program is the right solution.
What’s included:
Comprehensive Welfare and Behavioral Diversity Evaluation
Personalized Desensitization Plans: Up to four (4) personalized training plans per week for you to complete with your dog (total of up to 16 training plans)
Weekly Re-Assessments: Online by video conference once per week, we will meet for a live training assignment and re-assessment of your dog’s behavior during a practice absence (total of 4 X 60-min sessions)
Data tracking resources
Support throughout the Program.
Subsequent 4-week Programs, if required, is provided to continuing clients at a discounted fee.
